Biography

Peter Myndert Dox, born in 1813, devoted much of his life to public service, guided by a deep sense of justice and a commitment to the people he represented. As a lawyer and U.S. Representative, he worked to bring thoughtful deliberation to the issues of his day, always insisting on fairness and civil discourse.

He now rests in peace at Maple Hill Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of measured leadership and devotion to the republic.
