Biography
Peter Olcott (1733–1808) answered the call of his neighbors in the early Vermont republic, earning their trust as a magistrate and later as lieutenant governor. His steady hand and thoughtful leadership helped carry the young state through its formative years.
He remained devoted to the Meeting House Hill community, where he encouraged civic collaboration and personal integrity; his grave in Meeting House Hill Cemetery marks the resting place of a devoted public servant.
