Biography
Philip Peter Schuyler (1736-1808) was a member of the influential Schuyler family of the Hudson Valley, one of the most prominent Dutch-American families in colonial New York. His life encompassed the American Revolution and the early years of the federal republic.
Schuyler's long life of over seventy years allowed him to witness and participate in the transformation of colonial America into an independent nation. He was buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, reflecting his family's significant position in the region's history and society.
