Biography
Piet Smit was a resistance fighter who played an active role in the Dutch underground movement during World War II. Born in 1921, he demonstrated exceptional bravery in his efforts to oppose Nazi occupation and support the cause of Dutch liberation.
Smit gave his life in 1945 and was honored with burial at Ede Memorial Cemetery. His courageous actions and ultimate sacrifice exemplify the dedication of the resistance movement and the price paid by those who fought for freedom and national independence.
