Prince William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (1776–1834) was a senior member of the British royal family and a dedicated military officer whose career reflected the martial traditions of the Georgian aristocracy. His service spanned the turbulent period of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, during which he contributed to British military affairs in various capacities.
As Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh, William Frederick held considerable rank and influence within both royal and military circles.
