Biography

Edward VII was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India from 1901 until his death in 1910. Born in 1841 as Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, he served as heir to the throne for nearly sixty years before ascending to the monarchy at the age of fifty-nine. His reign, though brief, was marked by significant diplomatic achievements and social reforms.

Edward VII's nine-year reign witnessed important developments in British foreign policy, including the establishment of the Entente Cordiale with France. Known for his refined tastes and extensive travels, he brought a cosmopolitan perspective to the British monarchy. He was interred at St George's Chapel, Windsor, a fitting resting place for a monarch who shaped the early twentieth century.
