Biography

Randolph B. Marcy spent a lifetime as a United States Army officer, surveying the frontier, guiding expeditions, and authoring The Prairie Traveler to help others make their way across the West. His careful mapping and calm leadership made him a trusted counselor to soldiers and pioneers alike.

He continued to serve the nation in staff positions and as an advisor on frontier policy, and his grave at Riverview Cemetery honors the steadiness he brought to the expanding republic.
