Biography

Régis de Trobriand was a French-born officer who answered the call to serve the United States in its time of trial, rising through the ranks of the Union Army and guiding his men with a thoughtful hand during the Civil War.

When peace came, he turned to writing and diplomacy, preserving the memory of those turbulent years and continuing to build understanding between France and his adopted country while remaining active in veterans' circles.
