Biography

Richard Anson Wheeler, born 1817, was a storyteller, teacher, and mentor, always finding time to share a lesson or a kind word with whoever stopped by his door. His interest in books extended into the evenings where he would read to neighbors or help them pen letters across the miles.

After he passed in 1904, he was laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery, and the community remembers him as someone who kept curiosity alive and made books feel like treasures for everyone.
