Richard Barnes Mason

Biography

Richard Barnes Mason, born in 1797, pursued a career as a military officer and later served as a territorial governor, guiding communities with steady judgment during a period of expansion.

He was laid to rest in Bellefontaine Cemetery in 1850, where visitors still honor the service and leadership he brought to the frontier.
