Biography

Richard Busteed (1822-1898) dedicated his considerable intellect to the pursuit of justice, earning respect for his judicious manner and for the patience he displayed in hearing every side. He took seriously the responsibility to balance firmness with mercy, offering counsel with an even hand.

Now interred at Woodlawn Cemetery, he is remembered by colleagues and family as a man who strove to make the law a source of comfort rather than division.
