Biography

Richard Cromwell Carpenter (1812–1855) was a notable English architect who made important contributions to Victorian architectural design. Though his career was relatively brief, he established himself as a talented designer whose work reflected the architectural sensibilities of the mid-19th century.

Carpenter's influence extended through his designs and the projects he undertook during his professional life. His burial in Highgate Cemetery reflects the esteem in which he was held despite his early death in 1855, at just 43 years of age.
