Biography

Richard Henry Savage, born in 1846, was both a career military officer and a prolific author whose service at West Point and travels abroad provided the raw material for adventurous tales of heroism and honor.

He devoted himself to sharing those stories with the public while continuing to support his fellow officers, and his remains lie within West Point Cemetery among the ranks he cherished.
