Biography

Richard Taylor, born in 1826, followed in his father's footsteps of public service, leading men in the Civil War and afterward turning to agriculture and civic reconciliation in Louisiana.

A thoughtful leader and writer, he sought to heal divisions by encouraging honest remembrance and a shared future, leaving a legacy honored at Metairie Cemetery.
