Biography
Robert E. Lee, Jr. was born in 1843 as the seventh child of Robert and Mary Custis Lee and carried forward the family’s devotion to honor and duty. Though he experienced the trials of the Civil War firsthand, he later turned to professional pursuits that enriched the community, including engineering and business ventures that supported the region’s recovery.
