Biography
Robert Lee Scott Jr. (1908–2006) took to the skies as a young pilot in the Army Air Corps and became one of the most celebrated aviators of his generation, earning acclaim for his combat leadership with the 23rd Fighter Group and sharing his experiences in the memoir God Is My Co-Pilot.
After retiring from active duty he kept close ties with the aviation community and mentored younger flyers, bringing forward a lifetime of lessons in courage and duty; Arlington National Cemetery now honors his remarkable journey.
