Biography

Robert Moffat (1795–1883) was a missionary in Africa whose memoirs and letters brought knowledge of southern African cultures and struggles to readers at home, while his work at Kuruman inspired later generations of missionaries.

He lies in West Norwood Cemetery, where his legacy endures in the friendship he fostered across continents and in the enduring testimony of his life of service.
