Biography

Robin Olds, a 1922-born United States Air Force general, became a legendary figure through his daring service as a fighter pilot in World War II and Vietnam, where he earned respect as a triple ace and an inspirational commander. His insistence on readiness and his willingness to stand up for the airmen under his command made him a model of leadership.

In retirement he remained devoted to mentoring younger officers and championing the traditions of the Air Force, finally being laid to rest with honors at the United States Air Force Academy Cemetery.
