Biography
Ronald Bell (1951-2020) co-founded Kool & the Gang and composed signature songs such as “Celebration,” “Ladies’ Night,” and “Get Down on It,” helping to define the sound of R&B and funk for generations. His saxophone and keyboard talents, along with a gift for melody, made the band’s music cross borders and bring people together on dance floors around the world.
He also supported music education programs, sharing his belief that art could heal and unite communities, and took pride in mentoring young musicians. Ronald’s family says he approached every rehearsal, concert, and charity event with gratitude, leaving behind a soundtrack of joy and hope.
