Ronald McNair broke new ground as a physicist and NASA astronaut who carried the promise of exploration from Baton Rouge to the stars. His dedication to education, rigorous training as a mission specialist, and profound joy for discovery made him a role model for aspiring scientists everywhere.
Though the Challenger accident cut short his mission, his courage, intellect, and gentle spirit continue to inspire generations to pursue knowledge and reach beyond the horizon, honored today at Arlington National Cemetery.
