Biography

Samson Franckel was a respected member of the Brno Jewish community during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Born in 1784, he lived through a period of significant historical change, witnessing the transformation of Jewish life in Central Europe during his long lifetime.

Franckel's life spanned nearly eight decades of European history, from the late Enlightenment through the industrial age. He maintained his place within the Brno Jewish community until his death in 1862, and was buried in the Jewish cemetery where his memory is preserved.
