Biography

Samuel Maxwell Harrington, born in 1803, built a career in the law that led him to serve on Delaware’s bench, where he became known for upholding fairness and stability during some of the most trying years before and during the Civil War.

His thoughtful opinions and commitment to justice left a calm imprint on his state, and his heart is remembered today at Lakeside Cemetery.
