Samuel R. Rodgers

Biography

Samuel R. Rodgers was born in 1798 and lived through the early nineteenth century, witnessing the growth and development of the United States from the early republic through the Civil War era. His long life allowed him to observe tremendous changes in American society, technology, and politics. Though specific details of his accomplishments are not extensively documented, he was part of the generation that helped establish and maintain American communities.

Rodgers lived until 1866, surviving through the Civil War and into the Reconstruction era. He was interred in Old Gray Cemetery, where his memory is preserved among those from his generation. His life represents the continuity and resilience of American communities through the nineteenth century's most significant historical events.
