Samuel W. Black

Biography

Samuel W. Black was born in 1816 and lived through much of the nineteenth century as a resident of the Pittsburgh area. He witnessed the region's transformation from a frontier settlement into an important center of commerce and industry.

Black passed away in 1862 during the Civil War period and was laid to rest at Allegheny Cemetery. His life spanned a crucial era in American history, and he remains part of the community's historical legacy in Western Pennsylvania.
