Biography

Santiago Iglesias founded the Puerto Rican labor movement and earned a seat in Congress by amplifying the needs of workers during an era of industrial change.

He also served as Resident Commissioner, bridging Puerto Rico and the mainland, and his remains rest among other patriots at Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery.
