Biography

Sarah Bryant Dennie (1760–1827) was a woman whose life spanned the Revolutionary War and the early American republic. She was part of the generation that witnessed the birth of the United States and the establishment of its new institutions.

Dennie's long life allowed her to see the transformation of American society from colonial dependence to independent nationhood. Her burial at King's Chapel Burying Ground, one of Boston's most significant historical cemeteries, attests to her family's standing in the community.
