Sergey Sazonov was a prominent Russian politician who played an important role in the diplomatic and political affairs of the Russian Empire during the early 20th century. His career encompassed a period of significant international tension and domestic transformation in Russia.
Sazonov's political legacy reflected the complexities of Imperial Russian governance during its final decades. He ultimately settled in exile in Nice, where he was buried in the Russian Orthodox Cemetery alongside other members of the Russian aristocratic and political elite who had fled the revolutionary upheaval.
