Stephen M. Sparkman

Biography

Stephen M. Sparkman, born in 1849, served the people of Florida in the United States Congress for over two decades, promoting the needs of coastal communities and advocating for thoughtful infrastructure and commerce. His reputation for fairness and thoughtful coalition-building made him a respected voice in the Capitol.

He passed in 1929 and was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, where his long record of public service remains a reminder of what sustained, earnest dedication to the public good can achieve.
