Biography
Susan Jackson Davis (1784–1867) was a devoted wife and mother who lived through the formative decades of the American republic. She maintained a household in New England during a period of significant social and economic transformation, witnessing the growth of her community and the development of the young nation.
Her life spanned nearly nine decades, allowing her to observe the changing customs and innovations of the nineteenth century. She was laid to rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery, one of America's first garden cemeteries, reflecting the esteem in which she was held by her family and community.
