Biography

Takamura Kōun was one of Japan's most celebrated sculptors, born in 1852 during the Meiji Restoration. His artistic contributions helped bridge traditional Japanese sculptural traditions with modern techniques, establishing him as a pivotal figure in the development of contemporary Japanese art.
