Biography
Theodore L. Poole began his adult life in uniform, answering the Union call during the Civil War and carrying the discipline of that service into later pursuits in commerce and railway development. He remained actively involved with veterans' organizations, making sure their sacrifices were honored.
As a Republican member of the Fifty-fourth Congress, he represented New York and worked to secure pensions, organize veterans' homes, and promote sound economic policies, drawing on his battlefield experience to advocate for stability and fairness; he now rests at Oakwood Cemetery.
