Biography
Thomas Colley Grattan combined literary skill with a cosmopolitan outlook, publishing novels, histories, and travel letters that conveyed the color of European societies while drawing on his experience as a diplomat.
Through his reports and stories he helped readers on both sides of the Channel understand one another better, sustaining his reputation as a cultivated chronicler of the age.
