Thomas Denman
1733–1815 (age 82)
Biography
Thomas Denman was a physician whose pioneering work in obstetrics improved women’s care, and his publications on childbirth helped professionalise a vital area of medicine.
He lived long enough to see the fruits of his reforms, and St James’s Church, Piccadilly, retains a quiet remembrance of the thoughtful doctor who brought both science and compassion to his patients.
