Biography
Thomas Dixon Galpin began as a publisher in the mid-nineteenth century, guiding the work of authors and printers alike as he brought books and periodicals into readers' hands.
His steady hand helped maintain the quality of countless volumes, and the authors and colleagues who came after him recall the generosity with which he promoted new talent; he is laid to rest at Putney Vale Cemetery.
