Thomas J. Wood

Biography

Thomas J. Wood rose through the ranks to become a Union general, taking responsibility for men in the west and earning a reputation for steadiness in the chaos of battle.

After the war he remained active in veteran affairs and is buried with honor at West Point Cemetery.
