Thomas Whittemore

Biography

Thomas Whittemore (1800–1861) was a clergyman whose ministry extended across the first half of the 19th century. Throughout his career, he engaged with the theological and social questions of his time, bringing both learning and conviction to his pastoral work and contributing to the religious discourse of New England.

Whittemore's faithful service to his congregation and his intellectual engagement with matters of faith and morality secured his place in the community's esteem. His interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery reflects the respect earned through a lifetime devoted to the church and to spiritual leadership.
