Biography
Truman O. Olson answered the nation's call for service as a young soldier, quickly earning the trust of his comrades through steady leadership in the infantry during the Second World War.
In the face of fierce enemy fire he organized a defense that allowed others to pull back and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his courage; he rests today at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church Cemetery.
