William B. Franklin

Biography

William B. Franklin, a West Point graduate and Civil War general, led brigades and corps in the early campaigns of the Army of the Potomac, earning respect for his calm judgment under pressure.

Returning to civilian life he rejoined the engineering profession, guiding rail and water projects while keeping close bonds with fellow veterans and finally resting at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
