William DeWitt Hyde

Biography

William DeWitt Hyde (1858–1917) devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and to guiding young minds with integrity. As an educator, he forged a path of thoughtful leadership and helped to shape institutions that nurtured civic responsibility and scholarly curiosity.

He was beloved by colleagues and students alike, and his commitment to the study of the human spirit endures in the hearts of those he inspired; he is laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery.
