Biography
William Irvine rose through the ranks of the Continental Army and later served the young nation as a statesman, always mindful of the responsibilities at hand. He earned respect for his leadership in both military and civic arenas.
Devoted to the ideals of the republic, Irvine engaged in public service with the same diligence he had shown in uniform, and he now rests near Gloria Dei Church, where his life of duty is remembered.
