Biography

William J. Baner lived his Quaker testimonies with a gentle resolve, listening for the still, small voice of conscience as he settled disputes and offered meetinghouse hospitality at Friends Quaker Cemetery.

He believed in simplicity and in the tending of every soul he encountered, so that even when the trials of mid-century swept their way through the region, his calm counsel drew people back to peace.
