Biography

William Kelly Harrison was born in 1870 and came of age in the years of American expansion, serving in the Spanish-American War and attending to a variety of commands as the Army grew in size and scope. He steadily rose through the ranks, balancing field service with the administrative duties essential to keeping the force ready.

During World War I he oversaw mobilization and training efforts that prepared soldiers for service overseas, showcasing a knack for organization amid rapid change. He concluded his career honored by his peers and interred in Arlington National Cemetery in 1928, joining the revered company of Army leaders.
