William Kneass

Biography

William Kneass was born in 1780 and may have worked as an engraver, a skilled craft that was valuable during the early American period. His technical abilities, if indeed he practiced this trade, would have contributed to the material culture of his time.

Kneass died in 1840 and was laid to rest at Lawnview Memorial Park. He lived during a formative period in American history, and his life reflects the skilled labor and craftsmanship that helped build the young nation.
