William L. Greenly

Biography

William L. Greenly rose from frontier schooling to lead Michigan as governor, guiding the young state through economic and infrastructural growth when he took office in 1847.

After his public tenure, he returned to the Oakwood Cemetery area to advise on civic matters and nurture the institutions that would shape Michigan’s future.
