William Marvin

Biography

William Marvin was born in 1808 and devoted his career to law, eventually serving as the provisional governor of Florida after the Civil War and then as a federal judge.

He worked to bring order to a state emerging from conflict, insisting on fair treatment under the law, and he is buried in Lake View Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of steady judicial and executive service.
