Biography

William Thomas Clark took up arms as the Civil War began, rising to division command in the Army of the James and guiding troops through the Siege of Petersburg and into the Richmond campaign.

He later served in Congress representing Missouri, continued to champion veteran causes, and after his death was interred at Arlington National Cemetery with the honors due a national servant.
