Biography
William Walton Kitchin, born in 1866, trained as a lawyer and quickly immersed himself in service to North Carolina, representing his home state in Congress before assuming the governorship in a time of rapid change.
He guided the state through progressive reforms in education and infrastructure, always mindful of the communities who placed their trust in him, and his steady voice remained a comfort to family and friends as his labors concluded at Trinity Episcopal Cemetery.
