Biography
Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924) combined an academic career and service as governor of New Jersey before guiding the nation as its twenty-eighth president, where he championed the Federal Reserve, the federal income tax, and other progressive reforms.
During World War I he summoned the country to collective sacrifice and later put forward the League of Nations as a vision for lasting peace, a statesmanship that still draws visitors to his final resting place at Washington National Cathedral.
