Biography
Ximena McGlashan was a pioneering figure in American beekeeping, writing instructional guides, teaching apprentices, and proving that women could master an industry dominated by men. Her early work in Mendocino County and beyond helped popularize modern apiary techniques and inspired young women to pursue agricultural science.
Even as the decades passed, she remained an enthusiastic mentor who cherished the hum of her hives, the sweetness of her honey, and the friendships forged among the beekeeping community before being laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery.
