Biography
Zachary Taylor (1784–1850) rose from frontier roots to command armies in the Mexican War and, later, to lead the nation as its twelfth president, embodying a life shaped by duty and courage.
He sought to preserve the Union through measured leadership, and upon his passing he was laid to rest at the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, where visitors remember him as both soldier and statesman.
